Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten

Florida's VPK program is funded by the state at no cost to your family. We teach letters and words, math concepts, and valuable social skills — combining small-group instruction, independent play, and large-group activities so children hop, skip, and jump into kindergarten.

You'll need your child's VPK certificate to enroll, and we can help you get it. VPK spots fill fastest of anything we offer, so it's worth calling early.

Kindergarten (K5)

The jump into formal schooling is easier when nothing else changes. Same campus, same hallway, same familiar faces — and teachers who already know exactly where your child is and what they need next.

Small classes mean a child who is struggling gets noticed in the first week, not the first report card.

Shining Star Christian Prep Academy

Our private elementary school offers small classes, a full academic curriculum, and Christian character education woven through the day rather than bolted on at the end of it.

Step Up For Students scholarships make private schooling reachable for Florida families who might otherwise not consider it. We're glad to walk you through how that works.

Questions parents ask

Is VPK really free?

Yes. VPK is funded by the State of Florida for every 4-year-old, at no cost to your family. You'll need your child's VPK certificate — and we can help you get it.

Do you accept Step Up For Students?

Yes. Step Up For Students scholarships are accepted for Christian Prep Academy, kindergarten through 5th grade. School Readiness assistance is accepted for our toddler and preschool programs.

Is breakfast included?

Yes — every child receives a free healthy breakfast, every day.

Can my child stay from toddler through 5th grade?

That's the whole idea. Families who start with us as toddlers can stay through the end of elementary school, in the same building, with teachers who've watched them grow up.
